WIND AND RENEWABLE POWER

Wind and Renewable Power has in recent years been identified as a promising potential International Business Line (IBL). The IBL includes offshore and onshore wind farms, solar PV and power transmission network – with the main focus on wind energy

Hence, for our new strategy, COWI is seeking within energy business for an experienced and market orientated project and market director, who is motivated for being responsible for both expanding existing and new markets and thrives being the responsible project manager on large scale projects.

You will join an already strong section in COWI, which has a stabile increasing turnover. As Project and Market Director you will have a close cooperation with COWIs sections in Denmark, Sweden and Norway where COWI already holds a strong position today. You will work in a diverse environment with highly professional and skilled colleagues.

THE POSITION

As Market Director you will be responsible for defined markets and large scale project. Your commercial focus will take 60% of your time and 40% of your time will focus on selected projects.

Your role is to strengthen COWI’s market position within especially onshore and offshore transformers in the Scandinavian market (DK, S and N) and for totally new markets both in Europe and Worldwide.
To strengthen COWIs position further it is important, that you are able to create a solid and stabile cooperation with COWIs sections in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

In a future perspective COWI expects that the expansion of markets and upcoming projects will come from other countries than the Scandinavian Market. Your ability to network and use your present market skills will therefore make you capable of adding new customers and projects worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITY IN THE ROLE

The overall objective with the position as Market Director is to become a dynamic motivator for developing a “ready ”go-to market” strategy for wind energy and subsequently implementing such defined strategy.

You will therefore be responsible for leading and coordinating COWI’s efforts and activities regarding specified projects, customers, markets and sales, and to implement this widely by cooperation across different business units. You will also be responsible for sales (markets and customers) and for EBIT (project management and project portfolio).

As Market Director you will be a role model for good leadership and project management in accordance with COWI’s values and leadership principles and at the same time play a significant role in creating the framework for a good working environment where employees are thriving and developing.

As for the international project development you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customers, projects and project managers implementing projects for selected customers; all within the scope of the IBL strategy. This will also cover implementation of objectives as: finance, customer development and customer satisfaction, “must win” tenders, quality, profitability and liquidity targets etc.

You will also be the project manager of major projects in the portfolio or in COWI and have the responsibility for the development of international project managers and project management skills in the portfolio, including mentoring and competent feedback.

In your position you will have the mandate to position COWI in the defined market area after prior authorization from VP. You will participate in the division and the management of the department, as well as in COWI’s Energy Management Team and provide input to the VP regarding recruitment, appointments and dismissal of employees.

YOUR PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

  • You hold a Bachelor or Master in engineering
  • You have 10 to 15 years of experience as a market and/or project manager
  • You have extensively experience as tender manager
  • You are already an experienced project manager, especially from implementation of multidisciplinary projects
  • You possess relevant international experience
  • You have completed equivalent management education/training
  • You have extensively experience with sales, customer care and customer relationship
  • You possess comprehensive business experience and understanding
  • You are fluent in English (oral and written)

  • You are excellent at analyzing and evaluating complex issues and handling such complexity diligently
