About the Department & the Position

At the company you will work in the Modelling & Predictive Technologies Department, a part of the Structure, Bioinformatics and Data Science area, where you will collaborate closely with a number of other research scientists across the R&D area to improve and accelerate active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and drug product (DP) designs of new peptides and biologics. They have access to advanced state-of-the-art protein modelling software, such as Rosetta, Maestro and MOE, and are developing and applying data analysis tools and prediction models to support prescriptive decision making in the API design projects.

Your responsibility will be to drive the design of peptides, proteins, and antibodies by employing state-of-the art modeling software and artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning driven modelling approaches as well as to collaborate closely with other research scientists in multidisciplinary research teams. The project teams work in a flexible, collaborative and cross-functional setting with very ambitious scientific goals. Research activities will be focused on developing, implementing and using state-of-the-art structural modelling technologies to improve functional and biophysical properties. An important part of the job is also to engage with stakeholders across the interdisciplinary and international organization.

Requirements

  • PhD within a computational structural biology discipline, such as Biophysics or Biochemistry, and at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry. More senior people are in particular encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent track record and broad knowledge within applying and driving protein structure based design methods and artificial intelligence (AI) & machine learning technologies to drug discovery
  • Solid programming and scripting skills (e.g. Python) and experience with statistical analysis and modern data science techniques.
